The horizons of people with vulnerable health conditions living in the Hudson Valley and surrounding regions turned stunningly brighter in recent weeks, as Hamaspik won easy approval from state regulators to provide Home Care services for eligible people in need.
Home Care services can be arranged for any needed amount and frequency of time including up to twenty-four hours everyday or on a respite or temporary basis, subject to approval, to assist a person in declining abilities maintain independence and avoid relocating to a nursing facility.
Including in approved care for individuals are supportive services, such as bathing, grooming, dressing, in addition to help with meal preparation, housekeeping, and shopping. Assistance with self-administered medications, ambulation and exercises, and transportation to medical appointments is often provided.
At a meeting of NYS Publich Health Council in November, council members issued an official approval for Hamaspik of Rockland County, Inc. to serve as an "Article 36" Licensed Home Care Services Agency, providing a wide array of health care services to people in the privacy of their own or relative's home.
With the approval, Hamaspik is now tasked with swiftly setting in place a structured program to provide such needed care as: Nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech language pathology, audiology, home health support, housekeeping, nutrition, personal care and medical social services, among others.
As a licensed Homa Care agency, Hamaspik is reaching further into the network's long goal of being a one-stop shop for health and human services. As of today, the Hamaspik network of agencies are touching thousands of New Yorkers, young and old, with such diverse support services as developmental disability Waiver programs, Early Intervention, TBI, Access to Home, CDPAP personal aides, service coordination, community outreach, and much more. Each and every program is delivered with utmost respect to the individual and uncompromising adherence to rules and regulations.
Hamaspik Home Care will serve people in the following counties: Rockland, Orange, Westchester, Dutchess, Putnam, Sullivan and Ulster.
In addition to mere assistance at home, Hamaspik Home Care will offer nursing care and other such intensive health care support. Following a specific plan of care, and under the supervision of a skilled discipline such as a nurse or therapist, a home health aide will provide personal care that often prevents unnecessary hospitalizations, hasten hospital discharges, and enable any person to stay at home during illnesses or while convalescing.
Home Care Services are usually reimbursed by Medicare, Medicaid, and most private health insurance policies.
Hamaspik, as mentioned before, will soon provide all necessary information and phone numbers so people can start applying for Home Care services where quality and respect are the rules of the day.
